My car is missing the transmission dipstick. Do I need to cover the hole and if so what do I use until I find a replacement part? Thank you

Hello, I'm Danny.

If you go to your local auto parts store you might ask to see if they have a large size rubber vacuum cap to fit. It would be a good idea to cover the transmission fill tube to prevent any debris from entering. While at auto parts store you might want to ask if a dipstick is made available by an aftermarket company "DORMAN" If not you might want to check your local auto salvage yard, transmission repair (AAMCO) or you might have to go to your local Mazda dealer. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
