2003 Mini Cooper S Cost for brake replacement

Brakes problem
2003 Mini Cooper S 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 63100 miles

I need to have front and rear brake pads replaced, and got a quote of about $1100. Having never replaced the brakes before on this car I have no idea if this is a reasonable estimate. Seems very 'pricey' as compared to brake jobs done on previous vehicles.

Hello and thanks for the donation!

That is an extremely overpriced quote for just having your vehicle's front and rear pads replaced.. You may want to ask the shop for an itemized list of that quote to see if they are doing extra work than just replacing pads. Your vehicle comes equipped with brake pad wear sensors. They may be replacing those as well which will jump the price up a bit. An estimate is below for having your pads replaced at an average shop rate of $70 per labor hour.
