Would Draino or Baking Soda or some other liquid help? Would hooking up a Water hose direct w/a adaptor work?

How do I remove the heater core and replace it if I can't get it unplugged?

That isnt really a DIY project, the entire dash has to come out of the car to get to the heater core. DO NOT hook a hose directly to it, this could blow the core out and then replacing it will be necessary. Have you tried having a radiator shop backflush the system? You can use a hose, but not full pressure, and try going both directions with it. I wouldnt use too harsh of a chemical there may be o'rings sealing the tubes. Simple Green may be worth a try.
