1996 Mercury Sable speedometer/odometer

I just replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket. Couldn't figure out the wires so I had to run my own. The needle on the speedometer does not move now and the miles on the trip and odometer do not turn. All the other guages are working properly and also the automatic locks that activate when travelling are not working either. I checked the fuses for warning lights and guages in the block under the driver's dash, but it's fine. Can anyone help?

A matter of fact I had the exact same proublem today.I got the after market radio in and the needle on the speedometer wasent working.I found a soultion, come to find out in the fuse box under the driver side the fuse in there that is for the radio (5a radio) also works the speedometer I replaced that fuse and it fixed the proublem.I hope that helps. Just wondering if you know any Electrical problem related to the stering I think my stering going out has something to do with it to. If you have anytips write me at DannyHebel@hotmail.
