wiper

i have a 2000 mercury grand marquis. my drivers side wiper does not clean the windshield like the passenger side. it looks like it isnt making enough pressure on the windshield to sweep the water away, instead it smears it. ive tried many different brand wipers. rain x, anco. i have bosh excel. there 24$ each and i still have the same problem. any soloution????

The spring in the arm itself may be weak or the arm has been bent.

its pretty uniform. last night it was pouring down raining, the passenger side would sweep it away clear no problem. th driver side would "skip" the water away. then it got to a point where the wiper looked like it was just moving on top of the water instead of on windshield. tis kind of hard to explain.

but its not just heavy rain that does it. a cup of water thrown on the windshield or washer fluid and the wiper has a hard time sweeping it away.
