Couple months ago my car started stalling at idle or when I stop at a light, or 4 way stop. I try to fire it up an I get a pop or a puff under the hood!Ive always got to apply pressure to the pedal to keep it running. Some times it wont crank ive got to push it off the road then it will fire up no problem. This problem has moments it work s fine for weeks an thanit will happen for aday or tocrappy than works for a week an such. I put a new battery in, starter, had the injectors flushed a 3 part cleaning, flushed the motor, installed new plugs. What know!

Idle air control sensor. They crud up and don't work right. Spray about half a can of carb cleaner into your intake. Pop the hose off AFTER the air filter. That should clean it off. Doesn't matter if the car is on or off. If that doesn't work, you'll need a new one. It's mounted on top of the intake snorkel after the filter and before the manifold. Fairly inexpensive and simple fix

TOMFROMHULL Can you post a pic of where the carb cleaner needs to be sprayed? Was it the IAC, the idle air control valve?
I recently had the air filter replaced when I got my last oil change.

This post was from about 12 years ago so I doubt they will respond but I can assist. I would not recommend trying to clean you IAC this way. It may work for a short time but you can also damage your various sensors that are in the intake because you are just wildly spraying a chemical through your intake.

I attached a guide on how to clean an IAC.

Assuming you have the same vehicle listed, here is the process for removing and reinstalling. Let me know if you have questions.
