The evaporative emission control system that consists of the carbon canister, the CANP purge control solenoid(s), purge valve(s), the fuel tank vapor hose, and the fuel vapor return line must be checked because of raw fuel smell. The canister is located behind the left tail light. From the top all u can see is a small white fitting with black vaccuum hoses on each side but from the bottom ( and the only way you can reach it) its a round solinoid with a 2 wire harness comming from it.
Try to sniff around that area to confirm the smell of fuel.
The canister may be saturated with 16000 miles.
