I have worked for a few sedan racing teams over the years since 1993 and have done hundreds of brakes jobs. However, I can't for life of me understand why I can't get the pads out of the rear calipers. I see the pin I have to drive out, but I must be missing something simple to understand how to remove tis pin. Any advice would be wonderful.

Hello,

I have attached the rear brake pad replacement procedure for the 2006 C230 (look below).

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-rear-brake-pads-and-rotors

After you remove the pin you will have to pry the brake pads out of the caliper.
Keep in mind that you will also have to replace the brake pad wear sensor (if you were getting the change pad light on the dash).
Also it is important to resurface the rotors before installing the new pads, given the rotors are within specification.
The resurfacing can be done at your local auto parts store.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
