1992 Mazda 929 clicking noise

1992 Mazda 929 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

HELP!
When I try to start the car, all I get is a clicking noise. Had the starter removed and tested. Checked OK. Replaced starter. No start just clicking noise. Fuses and relays are good.

Short of shooting the car, any suggestions?

My 1992 929 HD did the same thing last month - turn the key, hear a click - and all the dash lights went out too.

The battery contact was all loose, tightened it up a bit and it started but I had to take it to an auto electrician to get a new contact fitted cause mine was stuffed, it just wouldnt tighten up properly.
