2006 Mazda 3 Locked rear brake
Brakes problem
2006 Mazda 3 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 63000 miles
What is meant by the rear brake being locked up, and what is entailed in the repair. I have driven the auto for thousand of miles and have not noticed anything different in braking and did not seem to have a problem with it. But I just had an Oil Change and the fellow told my wife that the rear brake was locked.

this usually means that the emergency brake cable is sticking causing the rear brake to stay lightly engaged and it probably needs to be freed up. any repair shop should be able to give you a estimate for free of charge or a minimal charge.
