So I bought the vehicle listed above from a private party and was told it needed a freeze plug. Get it home put the plug in drive for 15 minutes and it runs hot on me. So I make sure it's taking water and it pouring it out when I pour a little less than a gallon it pours out the bottom of the motor on passenger side under intake manifold.

Hello,

I would bet on a completely blown lower intake manifold gasket. These trucks are known for that issue.

Good luck!

Just to jump in on this, yes they are all the same on base engine systems like the cooling system and manifold gaskets.

The best way to confirm this is where the leak is to either have someone pour just water into the system and you try to pinpoint the leak if it is just pouring out.

Otherwise pressurize the system and water for where the water is coming out as it will push the coolant out of the leak until the pressure is gone. Clearly if the leak is bad enough then you will not have much time before the pressure is gone. However, this is not that common to have a leak this bad. If you do then it is normally not that hard to find.

Here is some info that will help with all this.:

If it is the manifold, I bet someone had this off and did not apply the proper amount of sealant to seal it properly. The process is below.

Let us know how you make out. Thanks
