This started a few days ago. Very loud sound on cold start which goes away once warm then returns while accelerating.

Suspected exhaust manifold but not sure as we had the driver side repaired at the dealer a year and a half ago.

Sound is very loud under the hood but does not seem to favor any side. It is a knocking sound with vibrations felt until it warms up.

It is a hybrid SUV and going at hybrid speed the sound stays constantly and goes while coasting and coming to a stop

Any help in diagnosing the issue is greatly appreciated

For something like this it has to be physically checked because it can be anything from engine noise to something with the hybrid system.

Thanks for the quick response.

Just an update, the Chrysler tech said it sounded like the muffler. The muffler shop did confirm, so we'll have it replaced tommorow hopefully

If I can jump in here, many people are taking a video of the noise and posting it here, upload it to youtube then send us the link so we can help you better.

Best, Ken
