Loud engine noise when driving, except when I turn left

I recently purchased this car. The car runs really smoothly (no issues with transmission or brakes), however it is pretty loud in the cabin. It sounds like the engine is working pretty hard. I just figured that was what the car ran like, however I discovered that the sound completely dampens when I turn left, and only left. The noise stays silent as well. I originally thought it was simply a loud engine, but now I am thinking it has to do with the wheels. All tires are filled to the proper psi.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Consider having your mechanic listen to it for a noisy wheel bearing. On some designs those will become quiet when you turn toward the bad bearing because some of the car's weight comes off that wheel.
