Engine problem
1992 Lincoln Town Car V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 150000 miles

I got wore out trying to put a new alternator back in, so I let my bro try. Well he stripped the mount that the bolt screws into. Its the mount on the engine, not the one on the alternator itself. So im in great need to find what I can do to fix this problem.

thanks a lot.

PS. Feel free to email me.

There are repair kits called heli-coils that can be installed. They are essentially threads that are put into the hole for the bolt to grab onto.

Bring the bolt to a parts store and get a Helicoil kit for that size, it will come with a drill bit and inserts, good luck, and careful when drilling!
