1986 Lincoln Town Car Starter will not stop running.


I have a 1986 Lincoln Towncar and when I turned the ignition the car cranks, but the starter will not stop running. The starter is brand new and has been tested, what else could becausing the starter to keeping running.

A shorted contact in the ignition switch between the igniton and start circuit or the starter relay is sticking-next time it does it-bang on the starter relay and see what happens.
