Suspension problem
1997 Lincoln Mark VIII V8 Automatic

We recently purchased a Lincoln Mark VIII that has been converted from air suspension to struts on the front. The computer was never disconnected and keeps looking for air suspension.

How do I "trick" the computer on this make and model to bypass the air suspension?

Go here and they have the parts and loaner tools to do the job.

I know there are instructions on bypassing the computer when you change out air to front struts. I have them on a lincoln town car, but the wires are coded different and I don't want to snip the wrong one.

Does anyone have a copy of the instructions for bypassing the computer after changing the front struts on a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII?

If you email those to me, I will look at both sets of wiring diagrams and figure it out for you.

I have sent you the instructions we had for a Continental. We didn't have a wiring diagram only written instructions. We are going to disarm the back air ride suspension also. Can you tell me where the compressor is and how to disarm it?

Compressor is at the right lower front of the engine bay. Wiring diagrams emailed, systems are not the same, no VDM in a Mark. Tied to lowering sytem speed sensor and steering.

I normally suggest contacting the company who sold you the kit, but if you got it from one of those "tech-less" companies in Florida, I'll help you anyway.

The air suspension module is located by the RH kick panel and has 2 connectors. A black one and a white one. On the white connector, cut the Dark Green wire with the Light green tracer. Put a piece of black tape on both ends, then turn the suspension switch back on. You'll never have the light again.
