2001 Lexus IS 300 PROBLEMS ACCELERATING
Transmission problem
2001 Lexus IS 300 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112000 miles
The harder I press the accelerator the less responsive it becomes; therefore, I have to press the accelerator very lightly to get it to take off. Once it takes off it drives relatively smooth until it hits about 3500-4000 rpms were it begins to bog down significantly.

likely problems are either low fuel pressure or a faulty mass air flow sensor. try disconnecting mass air flow sensor and then drive. a lot of times the car will run a lot better with is unplugged, if its bad and you should be able to get better throtle response. also try getting the computer scanned (autozone does it for free) then get back to us with the codes you get.
