I suddenly lost the left only turn signal clicking sound, the light lights up though, but no clicking (flashing). I changed the rear bulbs and all it did was make the bulb brighter on the dash. Will changing the front parking lights make the turn signal flash and click? Any suggestions? Remember the right hand flasher works great and so does the ER flasher.

Hello, I'm Danny.

It sounds like you might have an issue with the turn signal-hazard flasher. I've attached a picture below of its location on your car. I've also attached a picture below of the flasher with the part number and price from AutoZone auto parts stores. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Danny thank you very much for your reply appreciate especially the picture. But in my question I asked will changing the front parking lights make the turn signal flash and it did, the flasher now works great. I was told it was the rear light bulb that usually fix this problem but when that did not work I change the front parking lights.
I did however buy a turn signal switch as you mentioned but I cannot find it under the dash, do you have a diagram on how to take off the paneling under the steering column? I know I will need this in the near future the switch now is probably 30 years old as the car itself is, please let me know, okay? Thank you again Danny. Hope to hear from you in the near future, Tom

Hello again.

The turn signal- multi function switch is mounted to the steering column. You will need to remove the steering wheel to gain access to the switch. Here is a tutorial showing how to remove and replace a steering wheel:

I've attached picture steps below on how to remove and replace the steering wheel and multi function switch on your car. Hope this this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Danny thank you, but I am a little confused I thought the turn signal switch was under the dash and I had to remove only the bottom section of dash board paneling to get to it. Note, or are you showing me how to get to the emergency switch in your latest photo?

The one I would like to get at which seems to be the turn signal switch not the em switch, is this right, see photo here.

Hello again.

The first post-picture is for the turn signal flasher which is mounted under the dashboard. The latest post is instructions on how to replace the turn signal switch which is mounted to the steering column. Hope this clarifies. Let me know if you have any further questions on this. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

My mistake in explaining to you, I need the first option how to get to the "turn signal flasher" under the dash. Thanks Danny.

Hello again.

Usually, I personally just lay on my back on the floor mat area to reach up under the dash to replace. If you choose you may remove the lower steering column cover to gain more easier access to the flasher. The flasher is a round cylindrical looking part almost the size of a golf ball. I included a picture of the flasher in my previous post. I've attached picture steps below on how to remove the lower steering column panel. Let us know if you have any further questions on this issue. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Danny L, I cannot thank you enough, you are fantastic, I have talked to other mechanics and they just don't know what to tell me when it comes to older cars like mine!

I hope I can come back to you if and when I need other help with this 30 year old car. Thank you very much, Tom
