New heater hose is clamped on to the heater core tubes and one of them is leaking. The coolant is coming from under the rubber hose, coming out the end of the hose, between the brass tube and the rubber hose. Does that make sense? I've tried new clamps and hose, but no luck. Any idea what would be causing that, or how to fix it?

Hi,

If you are certain the leak is between the hose and the connector, remove the hose and inspect the brass tube for damage or corrosion. If there is corrosion, make sure to clean it off. If it's bent or damaged, try your best to repair it.

Now, the one thing you could try is using a high-pressure hose clamp. The worm clamp you are using can allow a section of the hose to not be secure enough. A high-pressure clamp tightens evenly, 360 degrees.

See pic below.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks Joe. I tried to find some of those high-pressure clamps but was unable to find them locally that were small enough. However, I did use a new worm-style clamp, but moved it to the most circular spot I could find on the pipe and clamped it up. So far, no more leaks! Thanks for your input!
