Knock/rattle when warm

My car has a knock/rattle when warm. You cannot hear it when it is cold. It seems to be coming from the drivers side of engine near the pan or catalytic converter. No loss of power or codes. I have maintained the car very well. But the noise is quite noticeable when warm.

Hi and thanks for using 2carpros.com. A common problem is the catalytic converter. Although it may appear in good condition, there is a chance that the internal components have come loose and it is rattling inside.

Here is a video which explains how to check the converter. Pay attention to the first couple still pictures. You will see an inside which has come loose. Follow the directions and see if that is the problem.

Hi again. Honestly, it is very possible. I would take something like a rubber mallet and tap on the system to see if you can recreate the noise.
