Transmission problem
2006 Kia Sorento 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I turned car off and when I tried to restart it, the car behaved like it was in gear so I suspect the transmission neutral safety device. I used a remote starter to start it to get it home and now the check engine light stays on. How can I access the transmission codes?

I don't think there is a method to check for codes without using a OBD code device. I suggest you check with a local auto parts supplier who should be happy to check it for you for free.
