I was driving and the engine stopped running. It wasn't running hot, there is oil and coolant. The electric and battery still works. The key will not turn over at all.

Hi Louie,

Can you tell me which engine you have in your vehicle? Looks like it could be a 2.0L, 2.2L, or 2.4L.

Also, I need you to clarify what you mean by the key will not turn over. Does that mean the key will not turn in the ignition or when you turn the key the engine will not turn over? You said the key will not turn over but you also said the electronics work so that tells me the key does turn but the engine does nothing when you turn the key.

If the key turns but the engine does not crank, this is what we call a no crank no start condition. If this is the case, I am pretty confident that the issue is most likely the PCM has lost it's voltage feed or ground. When this happens the engine can shut down and then it will not crank because the PCM is what sends the signal to the starter, spark plugs and injectors to start the engine.

There are some other possibilities but let's start with which engine it is and clarifying the questions above. Then we can start some testing. Also, do you have the ability to scan the computers for any DTCs? This will point us in a better direction as well.

Thanks
