Will a 2003 grand cherokee starter work for a 2001 jeep wrangler?

Are they the same engine? If so, it will probably be a GO.

Compare both for mounting hole locations

Look at the snout. Same?

Count the teeth (mark 1st tooth with a marker, then count) Is the count the same?

Call parts store. Ask for the part number for both applications.
