After changing out the exhaust manifold and replacing the gasket, reconnecting all vac tubes and eletric connections, when I start the jeep it revs until I shut it down, before it redlines.

Hi mhedrick,

An excessive amount of air flow into the intake manifold would cause the revving up.

Check if there is anything causing the throttle valve to be opened, eg, accelerator cable, foreign material lodged at throttle valve.

If any vacumn hoses or wire couplers are wrongly connected, it could also cause the problem.

I went out and bought a quality gasket (vice the one in the kit) and applied Copper Spray. The manifold sealed and now it runs like a champ. NOT TO MENTION THE BETTER MPG!

Thanks again.
