1993 Jeep Wrangler shifter stuck in 2rd gear

ok before my shifter got stuck in 3rd grear it would occasionally get stuck then pop out. Now its just stuck in gear and wont come out. Am I goin to need a whole new transmissioin or is it worth getting fixed

Well I would guess you have a puegot (sp) tranny. Thats what they do after wearing out. I repaired mine twice. The problem I ran into is the main gear cluster costs as much as a different tranny usually. I swapped mine out when I did an engine upgrade. An ax-5 should be a candidate swap out.
