1999 Other Jeep Models start up high idle

Hi I got a 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited with a v8 engine when I turn my car on it revs up to 3000 rpms and stays up there and sounds like im pressing the gas it stays like that for about 20 seconds. Do you know what the problem can be?

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve/motor and test the throttle positon sensor
