I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7 L with 78,000 miles on it. Recently the AC system has started acting up. It works fine for a while, then the compressor disengages and will re-engage for several minutes, then disengage again. A pressure test indicated that the suction is 55 lbs and the discharge is 175 lbs. Does this sound like a low freon charge? What should the pressures be? Thanks for your help.

the pressures depend on ambient and vehicle temp, they dont sound that far off. A/C does cycle to keep the evaporator core from freezing up, but if it does it erratically, could be a electrical issue. Have the system leak tested and charged, they should be able to find any leaks.
