Check the radiator if its clogged-up and water pump if its functioning. Also could be air in the system try bleeding it-if it continues to overheat get it block and pressure tested.

Chances are, it is your water pump if it has not been changed before. These 4.0 engines are known to eat water pumps. Check the weep hole on the pump and if you see any moisture around it, change the pump. It is a possibility that the radiator could be plugged too. Check your coolant levels and see if they are low. Other possibilities: Stuck thermostat, bad radiator cap, bad radiator(you will notice wetness coming from the radiator and possible corrosion on it), you may also have a pinhole in one of your hoses allowing air to be sucked into the coolant system and hence not making the coolant system circulate properly. Hoe this helps!
