Is it possible that a sensor is causing my alternator to quit working?

Hello, I'm Danny.

Usually, alternators just generally fail after time and mileage not by a sensor fault. Here is a tutorial showing you how to test and replace an alternator. Most local auto parts will test an alternator after removal for free.

You will need to remove the serpentine belt from the engine first to remove the alternator. Here is a tutorial showing how to remove the serpentine belt:

I've attached picture steps below showing how to remove and replace an alternator and the serpentine belt on your vehicle. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
