Electrical problem
1999 Jeep Cherokee Four Wheel Drive Automatic 185000 miles

Jeep is turning over very slowly when started, replaced battery with new one, cleaned cables very well, removed and cleaned ground wire from battery negative terminal to side of fender, still turning over very slowly and now will not start. Alternator light not on, other lights and other accessories are bright and do not indicate a bad battery. At a loss, can anyone help?

If you cleaned the negative cable at both ends, at the block? The starter need to be replaced! Or your timming is too far advanced.

Went over to where my son left the car last night, the car will not even click when we try to start. Lights remain bright. Battery is good. Connected neg jumper to engine block to rule out bad ground. Still no start. Put car into neutral and tried, still no start. Friend wh is really knwoledgable thinks it may be the switch in the ignition has gone bad. Could it be just a bad starter? Do not think it is the timing as the car would still turn over. This does nothing- de nada- zero. You would usually at least get the click if the battry was low. Thanks
