When I accelerate in my jeep, there is a louder then usual noise coming from the engine compartment. When I open the hood and push the accelerator, the noise sounds like it is coming from the exhaust manifold. How can I tell if there is a leak in the exhaust manifold?

Hello,

Exhaust leaks many times creates a ticking noise.

Usually, you will be able to tell where the leak is, if you start the engine when it's cold and hear the leaking noise from the manifold. You might be able to 'feel' the leak.
There are leak detecting sprays you can purchase and use it to see where the leak is coming from.

I have attached diagrams for the replacement instructions below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
