1997 Jeep Cherokee popping

My jeep has this nasty popping noise. It only pops when it is idleing and I will put my hand on the bottom of the engine and I can feel it popping as well. I think its the oil pump about to go out but im not sure thanx for the help

Does it sound like a knock? Could it be a bad rod or crank bearing? The oil pump usually doesn't make a popping noise.

You were right it wasnt the oil pump it ended up being a bolt on the fly wheel was loose and was hitting the plate that covers the fly wheel
