1996 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

We are trying to replace the water pump in our 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The problem is that we are having trouble accessing the water pump. Any suggestions on a way to get to it?
