Recently my car ran hot & I was grocery shopping. When I got back to the car & drove it, the temp stayed normal. I put a piece of cardboard under it & had a puddle of antifreeze by the next morning. I have purchased a new water pump, lower radiator hose & thermostat. I've removed the hose from the pulley & removed all but one of the bolts & I cant get the last bolt out. I've tried every tool I have & it just keeps stripping & rounding off. I can't put the new parts on until I get the old water pump off. Any suggestions?

Advance auto and others sells a stripped bolt socket set that I ow but have not used yet so dont know how well they work. Aother thing about regular sockets is they have champher at entry point which can cause slippage. I have ground them down shorter to remove the champher and had good luck with tough bolts. You may have to saw grind off old head to remove and then extract stud with vice grips pliers.
