My A/C System is presently not working and when I went to add additional R134 and found that my A/C Compressor keeps making Clicking noises.

The compressor spins, then stops momentarily, makes the clicking noise and starts back up again.

I noticed a large spike in the R134 Pressure about the time that the clicking noise was happening as well.

First Use a set of manifold gauges if you are recharging your A/C, these cans that only have the low side gauge only tell half the story! You need to jump you low pressure cycling switch connector, the clicking is your clutch cycling on and off due to low pressures, the gauge you have detects the pressure increase on the low side when the clutch turns off.
