Hello, on hot days (upper 80's-90's) the engine shuts down when the temp guage reaches over the halfway mark (about 212). It runs fine when the outside temp is below the upper 80's. Thanks.

Check the coolant level. It sounds like your engine is overheating and it is doing what it is supposed to do when overheating.

On a regular day (temp between 70's & mid 80's) the temp guage can get up to the same reading of about 112 and the engine is fine. It is only on a hot day (above 90) that the engine will shut down the moment the guage reaches about 112

What is the fuel pressure? Please look at the coolant level. Your temperature gauge could be malfunctioning.
