1990 Jaguar XJS backfiring left side after warm up

When engine is cold it starts ok runs ok until warm up it starts back firing on left side of the dual exhaust and runs bad.

I assume it is a v-12 with Marelli ignition. Check your distributor cap and and rotor. Remove the rotor to see if it has been short circuiting to the rotor base, the metal part that spins the rotor. I had a similar problem on the passenger/right bank a few months ago. My rotor was short circuiting, also engine oil was spraying into the distributor because of a bad seal and pcv system. Hope this helps.
