Electrical problem
1988 Jaguar XJ6 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have two issues. 1. Passenger headlight will not work on low beam, but does when you turn on high beams. 2. Rear drivers side turn signal/flasher does not work. With both issues the bulbs are new that I was told. Just ourchased car but don't have it home yet.

Verify power to passenger side low beam headlamp. If power, change the lamp. If no power, interchange the lighting module from the left side to the right side. These are located under the hood on either side of the radiator. If the passenger side works with the other side module, replace the passenger side module.
The bulb board system on the '88 is not a very good system. Remove the right side board a verify power at the turnsignal socket. If no power, interchange boards for right to left. If the problem does not follow, interchange modules as you did for the front. If you have access to a fax #, I can send you some wiring diagrams. I have an '88 XJ6, and I highly recommend spending the money for a repair manual. We handle the Mitchell line at this site. But any brand will be a good investment. The wiring system in the '88 and '89s were their worst problem. Hope this helps.
