This is a pronblem that has been getting worse and worse and now iut completely has no power. I start the car and when I give the accelerator a push it tends to just "bog" out and die. I thought maf sensor so I replaced it with a used one, same condition. I am now thinking possibly clogged catalytic convertors or maybe the maf sensor I replaced it with was not good either? I am seeing some oil like residue around the exhaust manifold near the head that is why I was thinking catalytic convertor plus it seems like there is no exhaust pressure at the tailpipes. Please advise thank you, Brian

A quick test for plugged convertors is; remove the air duct from in front of the maf. Start the car and put your hand over or close to the maf inlet. Manually open the throttle to about 1/2. If your convertors are plugged you will actually feel pressure instead of vaccum. The intake air has no place to go and is trying to get out. Plugged convertors on your year are extremely rare. Also, the chances of you getting a bad maf are possible but not likely. I would look towards the crankshaft position sensor then the ECU. Hope this helps.
