Car Jerking when accelerator is pressed

Hello. I have a 2000 6 cylinder Isuzu Rodeo LS with
85, 000 miles. Recently, it has been jerking when I press on the accelerator as I leave the driveway in the morning and intermittently at stoplights throughout the day. Is this an indication I need a tune-up or something more serious? It's been a great car up to now and oil changes and fluid level checks have been routine, since I've owned it. It was only a year old with 15, 000 miles when I bought it.
