I have a 92 Isuzu trooper 3.5 with 170,000 miles. It has been acting up for some months and we have been replacing parts. Now it has died.

It started with the check engine light staying on for long peirods of time. Sometimes it would act like it was not getting enough gas and then all of a sudden it would take off and the check engine light would come on. We know that it is running rich. It went from 19 miles gallon to 13 and has been getting worse until last week it quit while I was driving. After it sat for a few minutes it would start but would not state running. We did a computer code read out and got 02 sensor, EGR system failure, Electronic spark timing circuit plus we replaced the idle air control valve.

I don't have a lot of money to spend and my husband could replace the part if we just knew what it was.

Can anyone help PLEASE

That is a lot of miles for a 3.5. Have a mechanic do a compression test and determine the engine condition. The stalling sounds like an ignition module. I don't have enough info to make a clear decision. Good Luck
