I just got this car and the previous owner had changed the ignition due to loss of his keys, and now the car will only crank it will not start. Does the key have a certain chip in it that is needed for it to start?

Yep it sure does, becasue the key was lost you will need to take the car to a shop or dealer that can recode the key for you. Its a security issue.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
