My boyfriend had a genius idea to disassemble my ignition, lock cylinder, and cut the arm that holds it all in place right in half. Then he found a couple of wires and put solder at the ends and pushed them into the plug that switches on my starter and lights when you turn the ignition switch. This was done so my truck could be hot wired to get it home because I lost my keys.

Now two days later, you can no longer jump my truck. It was only making a clicking sound but it will not even do that now. It starts fine, I just have to pop the clutch. Any ideas s to what the problem is? I want to buy all the parts I am going to need at once.

Hello, I am Danny.

I have attached a picture of the steering column in hopes it shows what parts were modified to hot wire the truck. You should be able to find a local wrecking yard to buy the parts instead of a Toyota dealer. When the columns are modified there are a number of starting problems you can run into. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
