I replaced my battery and then I replaced my alternator and now it won't start

So I turn the key and my truck won't start I replaced the alternator and the battery and it seems like it don't have power so I hit the starter and it gets power only for a bit it crankes but it won't turn over so I turn the key while some is hitting the starter and it turns on for a second and it dies I'm not sure why it won't stay on.

Thanks but I still don't know why it it turns off cuz it only last about a second on and then it turns off

And also I don't have any lights on my dash until I hit the starter
