Just recently my car has been surging when I am driving on the road between 35-40 mph or lower. A few times When I turn it will surge and the rpm's will go down almost to 0 and act like its going to die but wont. I am maybe thinking the fuel filter needs to be replaced but I replaced it about a year ago. There is no check engine light coming on either.

Hello,

There are few reason you can experience surging.
It could be due to fuel starvation, spark issues, can also be for vacuum leaks.

First inspect under the hood for any vacuum leaks, look for cracked or loose hose. Check the air intake tubing and make sure it is connected properly.

You also want to check the spark plugs. If they have excessive carbon buildup, it is time to change them.
Also the fuel filter needs to be checked. If there is a clog in the fuel filter you can experience this type of issues.
The fuel filter is located near the firewall - driver side, under the master cylinder.

Here is a helpful article that goes over the basics cause of surging:

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
