2003 Hyundai Santa Fe 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 102000 miles
Does the water pump have to be replaced when changing timing belt? I thought this was true on older cars, can't imagine it would with this.

Hi:
If you have a V6, then the pump is run by the timing belt. Because of the amount of work involved in replacing it, it is recommended. However, if the old one if good, no leaks, and you want to save a few bucks, you can let it alone. The only problem is if it goes bad in a few months, you need to pay all of that labor again.
