I have had one incident where I started driving my Santa Fe and when I got to 40 km's the car did a jerking motion as if bucking on a horse. It happened again at 60 km's and again at 80 km's. After this happened I took it to a mechanic shop he hooked up a computer analyzer to it and the read out stated camshaft. He was unable to look at the vehicle that day(friday) so I told him if the problem persisted I would bring it in on monday after I left the shop I had no problems at all. It has been over a week and a half and all of a sudden the engine light has come on. What could the problem have been? Is this what is causing the engine light to come on now?

Scan the computer for code/s to find out what's causing the light to come on.

Hesitation could be caused by the following:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
