I have installed some Vision X 7" LED headlights in my vehicle and only the Halo/high beam is working. My low beam does not come on but flickers slightly. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it?

Hello, I am Danny.

Let me check into this for you but it sounds like a Ballast problem.

Hello again.

Is there there a chance you can upload a picture of the lens and ballast? Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

I have found a picture and I have attached it for you. Having just the low beams flicker means it is not getting enough power. Check the blue wire connection to make sure tight, no corrosion, damage, etc. If you have a voltmeter make sure that circuit is getting 12 volts. Hope this helps and let me know how things are going. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Thanks Danny, Will do and get back to you.
I had a look for a ballast, but could not find anything that might resemble them.

Hi Danny,

Here are the test readings I have taken before and after the High four adapter P-HLHI4 that allows low beam to be on with high beam on. I took readings for both the red and blue wires, before and after, when the lights were on high beam and low beam.

Hello again.
Looking over your readings. Did you install this or a shop? Just curious to know if this setup has a Ballast as well.

Hello again Ross.

Just curious. Were you able to inspect the ground and low beam wires? If they look good I would like you to try something. Bench test the light (hook it up directly to the battery) to check the high and low beam. This will confirm there is an issue with the light. Hope this helps and hope to hear back from you soon. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hi Danny,

The lights works okay when connected directly to a battery. Both high and low beams.

Hi Ross.

Well, there lies the problem. It is in your wiring. You should really double check the ground. Where the bolt/screw attaches to the frame use some sandpaper to ensure a good ground. Check for any signs of a bad/loose connection in all the wiring. Did you install or a shop? Hope all this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for this.

Do you know where the ground attaches on the vehicle on a 2002 Hummer H1?

A mechanic shop did the install of the lights.

Ross.

Hello again.

It will usually be close by the front core support. If you chase that ground wire you should be able to locate. Should be secured with a self-taping screw. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Thanks Danny,

I jumpered the ground to the battery and there was no change in the lights.

When I jumpered the power directly to the battery and the low beam worked a lot better. They were twice as bright.

Do you still think it is a ground issue?

Ross.

Hello again.

Yes, I would double check all the connections especially the ground. Have you talked to the shop that did the install?
Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
