We replaced the engine in a prelude, the mechanic used an engine from Japan. The check engine light keeps coming on and we had this checked by someone else and was told it is either the O2 sensor or the catalytic converter. Could this be related to the old engine being made in the USA and then switching to one made in Japan?

Hi dwrcor,

Should not be the cause if you had reused the sensors from your original engine.

What is the error code?

I am not sure what the code was, Advance Auto just said it was either the O2 sensor or catalytic converter. This is about the 3rd time we have taken it back to the mechanic that replaced the engine so before we take it back this time, we wanted to know what someone else said it was.

Get a scan done again and let me know the error code.

It could be coincidence that the sensor happend to fail after replacement of the engine.
