1999 Honda CRV idling high and steering shaking

When I'm driving between 35 and 40 mph steering wheel starts shaking really hard It also makes noise and vibration under my feet at the same time doesn't do it over 40 mph My other problem is when I'm driving up an incline car idles high to about 3000 and 4000 rpm at times it will shift but mostly it doesn't until hill levels off check engine light is on had scanner put on and had all 4 cyclinders misfiring I dont remember the codes sorry What can it be Angel Torres from Leeds Ma

Hi Angel,

The vibration is most probably from bad U-joints of the propeller shaft. Check them for stiffness or wear.

As to the engine straining before upshifting, you have misfiring codes which should be any of the following:
P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 or P1399.

When misfiring occurs and engine lacks power, the engine computer delays the upshifting.

Misfiring are usually due to bad spark plugs or related parts and/or insufficient fuel which could be due to clogged fuel filter, low fuel pressure. Get them checked.
